At this moment, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) is racing to pass code by December 29, before the duly-elected new Commissioner, Tiffany Gering, assumes her seat on the Board. The County’s stated goal is to eliminate two-thirds of vacation rentals (STRs). Visitors spend more than 1 million nights annually in Chelan County’s vacation rentals. They generate $150 million in direct and indirect economic activity, which supports some 1,400 local jobs.
