An Update and 2 Action Items!

Dear *|FNAME|*

As an update in our efforts to protect STR property rights, we have identified specific things that will help our cause:
  • The main opposition to STRs is that for well over a dozen years, the County has not responded to legitimate complaints and code violations by enforcing the existing nuisance codes. STRACC is simply asking the County to enforce the county code as it exists today.
  • Our attorneys have learned, through our disclosure request from the Sheriff's department, that there have only been two bonafide complaints against STRs out of well over 362,000 room nights rented in the last two years.
This is why STRACC is encouraging everyone to join us in asking the County to ENFORCE the current COUNTY CODE as the most viable solution for dealing with the limited number of nuisance complaints.

Action #1: Attend the 2nd Public Hearing on Aug 28!

The Chelan County Planning Commission will be holding its second public hearing on the new STR regulations. We are asking all STRACC supporters to PLEASE ATTEND AND SPEAK UP when the floor is opened for public comment. If you signed up last time to speak and were not able to, you will be asked to speak before any others are allowed. Each person will have a 2 to 3 minutes to speak.

When:  Wednesday, August 28th, 2019, 7-8pm
Where: Confluence Technology Center
             285 Technology Center Way
             Wenatchee, WA 98801

Please wear your yellow STRACC T-shirts to show your support. We will have more shirts available if you don’t have one. Please also encourage others to attend, including other owners, house cleaners and maintenance staff. This will be our last chance to have our voices heard before the Planning Commission votes—which will be either at the end of Wednesday's hearing, or at their next meeting in September. We need a strong showing of support and a unified voice in this fight, so PLEASE ATTEND THE HEARING.

Action #2: Write A Letter

We are also encouraging EVERYONE, whether you can attend next week's public hearing or not, to write an email letter to the Commissioners expressing your support for STRs. We've made it super easy to do this by creating a boilerplate template, which you can customize with your own information and submit it to the public record before next Wednesday's public hearing. Simply click the SUBMIT LETTER button below to open the email template addressed to the Commissioners and fill in the blanks. Please personalize or customize your message to get their attention. You may need to copy paste the recipients and content into your preferred email browser.

We sincerely thank you for your support!!
